Despite the fact that there is indeed a game coming up this weekend, the Penn State news universe has been dominated by talk of the proposed changes in the season ticketing system for 2011. If you missed this news, we're here to get you up to speed. After that, we'll have a couple more PSU-related links for you as well.
The first thing we saw about changes in ticketing came last week in a piece in the Daily Collegian. This article was mostly about shifting the student section into the south end zone, but there are details about the changes to donation prices for season tickets in the article as well.
The Collegian piece doesn't go super in-depth about the new system, but if you want a super-duper in-depth look, Black Shoe Diaries has a post that has you covered. If you still have questions after reading that, we don't know what to tell you.
Of course, there has been a lot of local reaction to the proposed ticketing system. Here's the rundown:
- The Altoona Mirror's Neil Rudel thinks the hike in prices is a damn outrage.
- Ron Cook of the Post-Gazette says people like Rudel should shut their pie holes.
- Cory Giger points out that when compared to other Big11Ten schools (like Ohio State), PSU's new system ain't so bad.
And in the final item in ticket news, Joe talked a little about the tickets in his presser yesterday. Also- and this is shocking- he doesn't want to talk about bowls just yet because, right now, he's just concentrating on the Spartans.
In other PSU news...
-Oh by the way, Brandon Beachum tore his ACL.
-PennLive has a closer look at Michigan State.
-Bob Flounders thinks Derek Moye will be key this weekend.
-Finally, Rittenberg has a video preview of the PSU-MSU matchup.
