Building the Tailgate

tailgate scene

(Tailgating is a big part of our football lives, we do it every game every year. We're going to make this tailgating themed article a regular thing where we pick up items we would want for our tailgate.  We're going to to be going out of our price range, obviously, but we plan on staying within reason... somewhat.  And please, point us in the right direction if you see something that should be part of any dream trailgate scenario.)

Read more to get to the meat of this thing.

If you're like us, tailgating is almost on the same plane as the game when it comes to priorities. We spend WEEKS preparing for football season, mostly for the tailgates.  So, you shouldn't be surprised when we talk about the weekend-long party like it's only exciting part of our lives because..well..it is.  Once a week, we hope, we're going to take a minute to drop some info about things we have for our tailgate or items we plan on getting the future.  Our original plan was to treat this like money is no option because then we could have a ton of fun with it, but we're going to keep things within reason.

So what do you need for a great tailgate?

A vehicle?

Check. Ours is the one on the right. 1983 Georgie Boy Cruise Air II.

You didn't even notice it there, did you?

A grill? Check.

Food? Check.

Radio? Check.

Palm tree cooler?

Check. A palm tree in the snow, no less.

We pretty much have the basics covered with the items we've listed and a couple of others we didn't list. What do we want next for our tailgates? Only one of the most essential items that would spare us the walk from RV lot to whatever the Sports Cafe is called these days to watch the game (seriously, we are the only people walking west at 11:30 AM in all of State College).

We waaaaaant:

The Vu Qube

Yeah, we know it's expensive, but remember we're treating this like we don't have to worry about cash. That, and we split everything 4 ways sooo, it's not all that bad. And we REALLY want to be able to watch TV at our RV -- walking downtown and back several times in one weekend causes problems. Since the GB is older than most of the people at our tailgates it didnt really come equipped to handle a satellite TV. The Vu Qube will remedy this situation.  Click the link to read all about how it works.

We have the TV's we can bring to the game, we've used them play Guitar Hero and Halo at a couple games, now we just need to be able to watch the games on a 56" HD. We will find a way, and the Vu Qube is the item to take us to the promised land. We would miss being at Pickle's or the Cafe at 2 in the afternoon a saturday, but we would enjoy kicking back in the spacious comfort of the RV lot just a little bit more.

This week we're dreaming about the Vu Qube, next week we'll be back with another item we could probably only dream of at our tailgate.
