In yet another portrayal of the ACC being inferior to pretty much every conference, Wisconsin escaped with a 20-14 win over the 15th-ranked Miami Hurricanes tonight in the Champs Sports Bowl. Usually we don't have many nice things to say about Wisconsin, mostly because we can't stand Bret Bielema, but in bowl season we're fans of every Big11Ten team.
This is a great start for the conference, as they've played one game and they've already equalled the win total for bowl season last year (where the conference was a robust 1-6). Let's not get ahead of ourselves, but it's a nice start.
As for Miami...losing a pre-New Year's bowl game in Florida to a Big11Ten opponent is certainly a far cry from the days of "The U." The lesson, as always: the ACC sucks.
Be back soon with the Capital One Bowl preview.
